MoFlo® Astrios™

glb_bci_149408_astrios
glb_bci_149447_as2
Leveraging the historically stable fluidic design of the original MoFlo and the electronic processing of the MoFlo XDP, the MoFlo Astrios expands sorting capabilities with a full palette of laser options. Seven pinholes spatially separate each laser, providing the flexibility and expandability known to MoFlo sorting.

ÁRAJÁNLATOT, INFORMÁCIÓT KÉREK!

The MoFlo Astrios is the new standard for cell sorting with functionality, speed, and improved sensitivity. It is designed for researchers who desire high productivity with more analytical capability and with biosafety solutions. The ergonomic design of Astrios makes it faster and easier to operate. All components requiring operator control are within easy reach.

Beyond the optic expansion, novel software components enhance the instruments capabilities. The Touch Screen Control Panel facilitates daily set up with its operation designed around core laboratory workflow. Auto Start Up enables the user to pre-define when the lasers and fluidics will start up, saving valuable time each morning. Creating flat-top beam profiles, a multi-fiber Beam Shaping Optic (BSO) shortens alignment time and improves optic stability. Two stages control the alignment for all 7 lasers, simplifying the sorter preparation.

Auto QC allows system performance to be tracked and trended across 32 available parameters. IntelliSort II is a fully bead-less drop delay determination and monitoring system. Camera images and proprietary algorithms enable the optimal drop delay to be determined without the use of fluorescent particles in the sample line. An updated version of Summit Software containing 6-way sorting, plate sorting up to 1536-well, and Index sorting logic is standard. The Quick Release nozzle design enables removal or swapping of the nozzle body and tip through the use of single lever.

Designed from the start with biosafety considerations, MoFlo Astrios has comprehensive aerosol evacuation design that filters particles from all chambers where aerosols have the potential of being generated. A fully sealed sort chamber housing the redesigned R-Theta CyClone arm facilitates the aerosol evacuation capabilities which are tested to the current ISAC guidelines. Additionally, the MoFlo Astrios has a custom Biosafety Level II cabinet option. The BSL II cabinet is tested to NSF-49 International standards with the MoFlo Astrios inside.

  The Evolution Continues
Researchers rely on Beckman Coulter's historic cell sorter technology. Now the next generation is here. The MoFlo Astrios is the new standard for cell sorting with functionality, speed, and improved sensitivity. It is designed for researchers who desire high productivity with more analytical capability and with biosafety solutions.
Applikációk

Application Flexibility

The MoFlo Astrios EQ is designed to allow you to work with the greatest possible range of biological and non-biological particles, and you can fine-tune the instrument to suit your application. Adjust pressures to handle a wide range of cell types, improve cell vitality without compromising sort speed, and keep your cells alive and running with temperature and agitation options.

The MoFlo Astrios EQ is designed so that your application determines your instrument parameters, not the other way around. This flexibility enables you to conduct a wide range of single-cell applications, including:

  • Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs)
  • Drug discovery applications
  • Rare event analysis
  • Stem cells
  • Neuronal cells
  • Fluorescent protein reporter selection
  • Ecological and physiological microbes (yeasts and bacteria)

In conventional cell sorters, there is a three-way trade-off between sort speed, sort purity and sort yield. The MoFlo Astrios EQ Mixed Mode sorting allows selecting for purity in one sort-direction and yield in another, enabling simultaneous recovery of virtually all the target cells that would otherwise be lost to achieve that high purity. This enables you to sort faster without losing extremely valuable cells, and without sacrificing purity of the principal sort.

Perform 6-way sorting without compromise:

• Save time by selecting more populations at once
• Save precious sample with our unique mixed-mode sorting capability

Break free from cuvette sorting restrictions:

• Analyze heterogeneous populations with confidence — no differential velocities based on particle size; eliminate the need for Area: Height scaling and provides laser-delay optimization
• Maintain consistent performance with less maintenance — no concern about burn-in of debris on cuvette
• Allow biological demands to dictate sorting conditions — select from 70 and 100 micron nozzle sizes, to precisely accommodate cells from practically any tissue you want using Intellisort II to automatically maintain drop delay

Look at data differently with 2 forward scatter PMTs

data01

Dual eFSC channels allow you to apply different application-specific masks for different particle types, or simply use different neutral density filters to allow a greater overall particle size range to be measurable simultaneously. The top histogram was measured on eFSC2 without any neutral density (ND) filter, to widen the separation between noise and 0.2 and 0.3 μm beads. The middle and lower histograms show the eFSC1 data (acquired with an ND1 filter) with different y-axis scales to better display the larger particle peaks. The entire dynamic range from 0.2 to 30 μm is easily made visible when different ND filters are used on each eFSC parameter.
