Antibodies are large, Y-shaped glycoproteins (also known as immunoglobins) generated by the immune system in response to foreign agents. They recognize antigens specifically and with high affinity and are, therefore, widely used in scientific research to localize, purify, and quantify proteins. They may also be used as therapeutic agents to deliver drugs to specific cell populations.
Primary antibodies are tools used to detect and/or quantify the presence of specific antigens in a range of samples. Our broad portfolio of products includes highly cited monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies, as well as an unrivaled range of recombinant monoclonal antibodies.
Our recombinant monoclonal antibodies deliver many advantages, including batch-to-batch consistency, confirmed specificity, and ease of scalability to help your research progress faster.
Fluorescent conjugated antibodies are the ideal tools for multiplex IHC and flow cytometry experiments. Our range of conjugates includes Alexa Fluor® dyes, FITC, PE, PerCP, APC and tandem dyes.
To enhance the flexibility of your experiment, over 10,000 of our antibodies and matched antibody pairs are carrier-free and conjugation-ready, so you can easily find primary antibodies that fit your research needs. Carrier-free antibodies are compatible with our best-in-class range of Lightning-Link® conjugation kits.
Choose the right antibody for you from our broad range of conjugated secondary antibodies.
Secondary antibodies indirectly detect a primary antibody that specifically binds to the protein of interest. They're made by immunizing a host animal with antibodies from a different species. Immunizing a goat with rabbit IgG will generate goat anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibodies. The secondary antibody selected should match the species in which the primary antibody was raised in, as well as the isotype of the primary antibody of interest. For example, a goat anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody can be used to detect the signal of rabbit IgG primary antibodies.
Secondary antibodies can be conjugated to fluorophores, such as Alexa Fluor® dyes. Our catalog has secondary antibodies conjugated to nine Alexa Fluor® dyes, which are ideal for multi-color analysis and use in cell imaging and flow cytometry experiments. Learn about Alexa Fluor® conjugated secondary antibodies at Abcam here.
Secondary antibodies can also be conjugated to enzymes, like HRP and alkaline phosphatase, or proteins like biotin, to amplify the signal of primary antibodies. We offer HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies against diverse species and their isotypes, as well as in fragment and pre-adsorbed forms. Click here to learn more about our HRP offering.
Curated panels of high-quality, well-validated antibodies.
Antibody panels are sets of antibodies in smaller pack sizes that enable you to assess how various antibodies perform in your experiment.
We have curated our antibody panels to offer high-quality, well-validated antibodies for multiple targets in a cost-effective and efficient format. Our comprehensive range of antibody panels is tailored to meet your experimental needs, whether investigating cancer biomarkers, studying post-translational modifications, or exploring specific pathways.
This includes immunohistochemistry (IHC)-optimized panels of anti-human recombinant antibodies against key immuno-oncology (IO) targets. Our immune checkpoint panels are designed to reduce the legwork involved in assay development, enabling you to regain valuable lab time and continue moving forward, increase your chances of success, and do more with your screening. Learn more about antibody panels for immune checkpoints here.
Arrays to measure over 400 different proteins.
Cytokine arrays and other antibody arrays can measure the levels of hundreds of proteins in a sample simultaneously. They're ideal tools for identifying the key changes in a protein pathway or network.
We offer over 75 cytokine arrays and other antibody arrays, for the measurement of more than 400 cytokines, chemokines, and other proteins, with arrays available for human, mouse, rat and other species.
Our antibody arrays for multiplex protein analysis quantitate up to 40 proteins per array in as little as 50µl of sample. For more information on quantitative antibody arrays, click here.
We also offer membrane-based cytokine arrays which enable the analysis of up to 96 cytokines or other proteins in one experiment and are useful for studying chemokines, growth factors, angiogenesis, apoptosis, and other proteins. For more information about membrane antibody arrays, click here.
