Eukaryotic Cell-Free Protein Expression

Rabbit Reticulocyte Lysate is prepared from New Zealand white rabbits. After the reticulocytes are lysed, the extract is treated with micrococcal nuclease to destroy endogenous mRNA. The lysate contains the cellular components necessary for protein synthesis.
